Developmental editing and story coaching for romance and romantasy writers

Something in your story isn't working. You just can't see why.

When a manuscript feels stuck, it's rarely about effort or talent. It's about something beneath the surface that's hard to name and even harder to fix on your own.

Why your story feels stuck

When something feels off, it's usually hard to explain.

Sometimes a story feels uneven, but it's difficult to say exactly why. The structure may feel unclear. The character arcs may not be landing the way you hoped.

You may notice momentum slowing down, scenes losing energy, or an emotional thread that never fully settles into place. You can feel that something isn't working, even if you can't yet name it.

Clarity before correction

It's not that your story is broken.

More often, the issue is one of clarity. The story foundation needs to be understood more deeply so you can see how the pieces are working together and where they're losing strength.

Once you can see what's happening in the story more clearly, the next steps tend to feel much more possible.

Approach

Where creativity meets kindness.

I'm Elin, a romance author and story coach, and I help writers shape romance-driven manuscripts with care, insight, and lots of encouragement.

I'll meet you where you are, whether you're just starting out or deep in revision. My feedback is thoughtful, honest, and shaped around your voice, your story, and your process.

I don't measure progress by speed or output. My focus is on clarity, emotional impact, and helping you make intentional story decisions.

The goal isn't to fix your story. It's to help you understand it.

About

Author, reader, eternal story lover.

Storytelling has always been part of my life. Before I was old enough to put pen to paper, I was daydreaming of distant lands, quiet magic, and characters with aching hearts.

Over time, I came to love not only writing, but understanding why stories work. Structure, pacing, emotional beats, and character arcs matter deeply, but so does the part only you can bring: your heart, your voice, and your reason for telling the story.

I know how vulnerable it can feel to hand your pages to someone else. My feedback comes from a place of deep respect for your voice, your story, and your journey.

You don't have to figure everything out on your own.
